Carlow University invites applications for the Director of Adult/Graduate Admissions and the Regional Education Centers and ultimately to the Vice President of Enrollment Management. The Assistant Director is responsible for recruiting qualified graduate students for the programs assigned and for developing and implementing strategic recruitment plans to meet enrollment goals. The Assistant Director is also responsible for recruitment of international graduate and undergraduate students. Primary responsibilities include creating recruitment plans to meet enrollment goals for designated populations and facilitation of all recruitment, admission, financial aid, advising, registration, academic support, student affairs, orientation and enrollment processes for responsible populations. This individual works closely with the Center for Global Studies. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying and facilitating future partnerships that will enhance enrollment of graduate and international students.

Responsibilities and Scope of Functions:

Recruitment

Meets established enrollment goals for graduate and international students.

Develops and implements programmatic marketing and recruitment plans.  Assesses data and evaluates plan; adjusts strategies as needed to meet goals.

Reviews admission applications and recommends level of admission (regular, provisional or conditional); recommends scholarships.

Communicates with program directors regarding current program information and status of recruitment efforts to meet goals and to ensure student/prospective student satisfaction.

Assists prospective students in all aspects of admission, financial aid and enrollment processes.  Serves as liaison between prospective graduate/international students and respective offices. International students: includes verification of documents, issuing I-20, and working with the Office of Global Studies to facilitate all aspects of enrollment.

Identifies and Serves as liaison between Carlow University and businesses/agencies with the intent to create and foster alliances which benefit both employees and Carlow University graduate/international student recruitment.

Works with Special Events Coordinator to plan and implement special programs; Open House and Information Sessions.

Represents the Admissions Office and the University at external events as needed. 

Performs any and all additional duties as assigned.

Responsible for everyday management of Cranberry Education Center at the Regional Learning Alliance (RLA). Including but not limited to; classroom scheduling, faculty support, technology set up, and performance of standard office duties. Serve as a liaison between the RLA and Carlow University.

Administrative

Contributes to the general direction, morale, dynamics and professional   development of the office.

Recommends on-going development, implementation and assessment of efficient and effective office processes and procedures. Plans for and actively participates in administrative team meetings, as well as staff meetings, to ensure existing and new or changing policies, procedures, and recruitment initiatives are envisioned, communicated, and implemented effectively.

Collaborates with other administrative offices to coordinate policies and procedures and to offer advising and registration activities for graduate students.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  1. Master's degree required with some admissions experience;
  2. Proven sales or admissions experience in a goal-oriented operation preferred;
  3. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, goal-oriented atmosphere, both independently and as part of a unified team;
  4. Requires the ability and attitude to embrace organizational change;
  5. Proven written and verbal communication skills;
  6. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  7. Excellent leadership, customer service, phone, mentoring, and training skills are necessary;  
  8. The ability to transport self  in a timely manner from location to location;
  9. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products is required.
