Faculty Position: Biology Department (Full-Time Tenure-Track)

The Department of Biology at Carlow University invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2018.  The primary instructional responsibilities of the candidate will include teaching Nursing Microbiology, Contemporary Human Biology, and introductory biology laboratory sections.  Additional teaching responsibilities may include lecture or laboratory sections in Anatomy and Physiology.  Opportunities to teach additional classes for majors and non-majors will be dependent on the applicant's qualifications and the needs of the Department.


  1. The position requires a Ph.D. in Biology completed by August 2018.
  2. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the college/university level (may include part-time or TA experience) and must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education as this is the primary responsibility for the position. 
  3. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to actively engage in professional development and provide service to the Department, College, and University. 
  4. Applicants should possess basic experience in using technology applications, specifically learning management systems (LMS).
