Celtics open season with loss at MVNU

The Carlow women’s basketball team opened the season with a 67-45 loss at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The Cougars, who were celebrating their homecoming weekend, held a 37-14 lead at halftime. They were led by Natalie Carpenter, who poured in 21 points.

Emma Stille (SO/Columbus, Ohio) paced the Celtics with 14 rebounds and seven points. Alexis Yanief (SR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored 10 points and Theresa Fachetti (JR/Harbor Creek, Pa.) had three assists.

Carlow has a quick turnaround, traveling to NAIA No. 14 Indiana Tech for at 3pm game Sunday.
