Carlow’s 100 Percent Pass Rate Is the Highest in Western Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh, Pa. – With a batting average that Babe Ruth would envy, Carlow University’s 2016-2017 BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) graduates were a perfect 43-for-43 in passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).

This 100 percent pass rate is the highest pass rate in western Pennsylvania and marks the fourth year in a row that Carlow has led the schools in our region in pass rate on NCLEX, the exam that allows graduates from pre-licensure nursing programs to be licensed to practice nursing.

“At Carlow University, it is all about facilitating the success of our student. We are proud of this extraordinary outcome that demonstrates the quality of our nursing programs,” said Lynn George, PhD, RN, CNE, Carlow’s Dean of the College of Health and Wellness.  “Our students and our faculty worked collaboratively to ensure this level of success.”

The NCLEX exams are developed and owned by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.  All boards of nursing in states and territories of the United States require candidates to pass the NCLEX so they can be licensed as registered nurses.
