The Carlow men’s golf team wrapped up it’s inaugural season at the River States Conference Championships on Monday and Tuesday, April 17-18, at Lassing Pointe Golf Course, in Union, Ky.
The Celtics scored 448 in the first round, 418 in the second round and 440 in the third round on the par-72, 6,724-yard course.
“All of our golfers represented Carlow University well,” head coach Ryan Shank said. “I am very proud of their efforts!”
Hunter Marshall (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) led the Celtics by shooting 91-80-83. His highlight was a chip-in eagle of 48 yards on the par-5 15th hole in the second round.
Brian Ziegler (FR/West Mifflin, Pa.), who competed in the RSC Fall Preview for Carlow, showed great improvement from that competition.
Nick Paone (FR/Export, Pa.) was chosen to represent Carlow on the River States Conference Champions of Character team.
Point Park won the tournament title with a final-round score of 305, edging Asbury by three strokes. Asbury's Matthew McCurry won the individual championship as the medalist with scores of 73-72-71.
The Carlow women’s golf team competes in the RSC Championship on Monday and Tuesday, April 24-25.
