Carlow women’s cross country team second at St. Vincent Invitational

LATROBE, Pa. – The Carlow University women’s cross country team placed second out of four teams at the St. Vincent College Early Bird Cross Country Invitational, on Friday, Sept. 2.

The Celtics opened the season with an average time of 29.22 in the 6k race.

Janika Hutton (FR/Monongahela, Pa.) led Carlow with an eighth-place finish, in 27:31. Sierra Vecchio (SR/North Huntingdon, Pa.) finished ninth, in 28:04. Megan Horgan (FR/Bethel Park, Pa.) ran 29:22, Leanne Glaub (SO/West Seneca, NY) ran 30:29, Ashley Hankins (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) ran 31:23, Georgeanne Morris (FR/Shaler Township, Pa.) ran 32:15 and Katherine Winter (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) ran 32:55.

St. Vincent won the meet with an average time of 26:47, taking five of the top six places. Westmoreland County Community College finished third, with an average time of 31:59. Pitt-Greensburg was fourth, with an average time of 32:33.

The Celtics next run Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational.
