Volleyball team earns season's first win

MONACA, PA. – The Carlow volleyball team earned its first win of the season Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Penn State Beaver Tournament. The Celtics (1-2/0-0) defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny, 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-22).

Kassidy Dickson (SO/Cochranton, PA) led Carlow with eight kills, two block assists and one solo block against the Lions (0-2). Michaela Koran (SO/North Olmsted, OH) recorded 18 assists and had five kills with a .571 hitting percentage. Mia Marmion (JR/Upper St. Clair, PA) had 10 digs.

The Celtics rebounded after losing their first match of the tournament the evening before. The University of Maine at Fort Kent defeated Carlow, 3-1 (25-23, 10-25, 25-19, 25-17). Koran had 31 assists, Marmion had 21 digs, and Kristina Hudock (JR/Uniontown, PA) had 10 kills against the Bengals.
